An artifact is a self-contained, interactive web page that an AI coworker builds for you: a report, a dashboard, a diagram, or a calculator. Use one when a chat reply isn’t enough and you want something you can click through, filter, keep and share with your team.

Ask for an artifact

Ask in Slack or in the coworker’s Chats in Vybe. Say what it’s for, what data to use, and what you want to be able to do with it.
Build an interactive dashboard of this quarter’s pipeline by stage, with a filter for deal owner.
Turn this spreadsheet into a calculator that estimates shipping cost from weight and destination.
Draw a diagram of our customer onboarding flow, from signup to first invoice.
Make a report of last week’s support tickets by category that loads fresh data each time I open it.
While it works, you’ll see “Publishing artifact: title…”, then “Published artifact: title” and a card for the artifact.
  • In Vybe, the artifact opens in a side panel next to the chat.
  • In Slack, the coworker uploads the HTML file to the thread and links to the artifact in Vybe.
To change an artifact, ask the coworker in the same conversation, for example “Add a chart of revenue by region.” It publishes a new version of the same artifact.

Live data

An artifact can load fresh data each time you open it, instead of showing a snapshot from when it was built. It can:
  • Call your integrations, using read-only actions only. It goes through the coworker’s own connections and permissions, so the coworker needs access to that integration. See Capabilities.
  • Query an external database that you’ve connected to Vybe and given the coworker access to. This works with PostgreSQL and MySQL connections that have Enforce Read Only turned on. Each query is a single SELECT, returns at most 1,000 rows, and times out after 10 seconds. See Databases.
Artifacts can’t create, change, delete or send anything. Organization databases, the coworker’s own database and Amazon Redshift aren’t supported for live queries. Live data only loads when you open the artifact in Vybe. The copy uploaded to Slack and a downloaded HTML file can’t fetch live data.
Live data comes through the coworker’s connections, not the viewer’s. Everyone who can open the artifact sees the same data.

Find your artifacts

Every coworker has an Artifacts section: “Interactive reports, dashboards, diagrams, and calculators.” It lists everything the coworker has published, from Slack and from Vybe, most recently edited first. Each card shows a preview and when it was last edited. Click Load more to see older ones. If the coworker hasn’t made any yet, you’ll see “No artifacts yet”. The Artifacts page in the main sidebar only lists older artifacts. Artifacts your coworkers make live in each coworker’s Artifacts section.

Versions

Each time the coworker updates an artifact, Vybe saves a new version and keeps the old ones. When an artifact has more than one version, a Version N picker appears at the top. Pick a version to view it. Export as PDF and Download HTML use the version you’re viewing.

Share, export and delete

Open an artifact and click … (Artifact actions): To control who can open a coworker’s artifacts, change who can access the coworker. See Sharing and access.

Limits

Vybe refuses to publish an artifact that appears to contain a credential or other secret.

Tips

  • Say who it’s for. “For the Monday leadership meeting” leads to a different layout than “for me to dig into.”
  • Ask for controls. Filters, date pickers and toggles make one artifact useful for many questions.
  • Ask for live data when it matters. A dashboard that loads fresh data stays useful long after the conversation ends.
  • Iterate in the same thread. Asking for changes there keeps them in one artifact, with each change saved as a new version.
