How checkpoints work
When an AI reply changes code, it ends with a line that reads “Your progress has been saved.” and a Restore button. That line is the checkpoint: a snapshot of all the app’s code at that moment. Checkpoints are automatic. Replies that don’t change code, such as answers in Ask mode, don’t create one. Neither do your own saves in the Code tab.Restore a checkpoint
1
Find the checkpoint
Scroll up the conversation to the last reply where the app worked the way you wanted.
2
Click Restore
Vybe opens Restore this backup?: “This will revert files to the selected checkpoint and delete all chat messages from that checkpoint to now for this thread. This cannot be undone.” Under Your messages that will be deleted, it lists the messages you sent after that point.
3
Click Confirm restore
You see “Backup restored” and the editor reloads. The checkpoint line now reads “Your progress has been restored.” with a Restore again button.
What a restore changes
If the restored code expects a different database structure, ask the AI to bring the database in line:
I restored an earlier version. Check the database schema against the code and fix any mismatches.
Undo a publish
There’s no one-click rollback for a published app. To put an earlier version live:- Restore the checkpoint you want.
- Check the preview.
- Publish again. See Publishing.
Tips
- Restore early. If you spot a problem, restore before asking for more changes on top of it.
- Build in small steps. One change per prompt gives you a checkpoint for each change, so you can undo exactly the one that went wrong.
- Republish after restoring if the app is live, so the published version matches your code.
