# Organizations

> Sign up and log in, create and switch organizations, connect Slack, invite people, and find your organization settings

An organization is your team's workspace in Vybe. Your AI coworkers, apps, connections, knowledge and members all belong to one organization, and nothing is shared between organizations. You can belong to several organizations and switch between them at any time.

## Sign up and log in

Go to [vybe.build/login](https://vybe.build/login). The page offers four ways in:

| Button | How it works |
| - | - |
| **Continue with Slack** | Sign in with your Slack account. |
| **Continue with Google** | Sign in with your Google account. |
| **Continue with invitation** | Enter your email. Vybe sends you a sign-in link and a 6-digit code. Click the link, or type the code and press **Verify Code**. |
| **Continue with SSO** | Enter your work email and sign in with your company's identity provider. See [Single sign-on](https://docs.vybe.build/organization/sso.md). |

The method you used last moves to the top and shows a **Last used** badge.

### Creating a new account

The sign-up page ([vybe.build/sign-up](https://vybe.build/sign-up)) only offers **Continue with Slack**. A new Vybe account can come from:

* **Slack**: sign up with Slack.
* **SSO**: sign in with **Continue with SSO**, if your company has set up single sign-on.
* **An invitation**: if someone invited your email address, you can use any of the four login buttons with that email.

Anything else is blocked. For example, a new Google account sees "There's no Vybe account for this email yet", and a new email without an invitation sees "We couldn't find an invitation for this email. Ask your team admin to invite you, or sign up with Slack."

If you already have an account, Google and email-link sign-in open the same account when the email matches. Slack sign-in never joins an existing account. If you try, you see "You already have a Vybe account with this email. Log in the way you did before."

The first time you sign in, Vybe may ask for your full name on a **Create your profile** step.

To log out, open the user menu at the bottom left of the sidebar and choose **Log out**.

## Create an organization

**1. Open your organizations**

Open the user menu at the bottom left of the sidebar and choose **Switch organization**. This opens the **Organizations** page.

**2. Start a new organization**

Click **Create Organization**.

**3. Name it**

Enter an **Organization Name**. Letters, numbers, spaces, hyphens, periods and apostrophes are allowed, up to 25 characters.

**4. Pick its URL**

Enter an **Organization URL** of 3 to 25 characters. Vybe checks it as you type and shows **Available** or **Already taken**. The URL appears in the address of every app you publish, for example `my-app-acme.vybe.build`.

**5. Create it**

Click **Create organization**.

You become the organization's **Owner**, and the organization starts on the Free plan. Vybe then helps you set up your first AI coworker and add it to Slack. See [Quick start](https://docs.vybe.build/getting-started/quick-start.md).

> [!WARNING]
>
> The organization URL can't be changed later, and there's no rename option in Settings. Choose both carefully.

Each person can create up to five free organizations. After that, Vybe asks you to upgrade an existing organization to a paid plan.

> [!TIP]
>
> Use separate organizations only when you need fully separate workspaces, with different members, billing and connections. For one team, a single organization with [roles](https://docs.vybe.build/organization/members-and-roles.md) and per-coworker sharing is simpler.

## Switch organizations

1. Open the user menu at the bottom left of the sidebar.
2. Choose **Switch organization**.
3. On the **Organizations** page, click **Switch** next to the organization you want. Your current organization shows a **Current** badge.

You can also press `⌘ + K` (`Ctrl + K` on Windows) and pick **Switch to** *organization*. This option appears when you belong to more than one organization.

## Slack workspaces and organizations

One Slack workspace connects to one Vybe organization. Owners and Admins connect it in **Settings → Organization → General**, under **Slack**, with **Add Vybe to Slack**. If the workspace is already linked elsewhere, you see "This Slack workspace is already connected to another Vybe organization." For the full Slack setup, see [Slack](https://docs.vybe.build/channels/slack.md).

### Auto-join from Slack

Once your Slack workspace is connected, your teammates can join your organization by signing in with Slack. They join as **Viewers**, and you can [change their role](https://docs.vybe.build/organization/members-and-roles.md#change-a-members-role) later.

A person joins automatically when all of these are true:

* They sign in with **Continue with Slack**.
* Their Slack workspace is connected to your organization.
* **Auto-join from Slack** is on for your organization. It's on by default.
* They're a full member of the Slack workspace. Slack guests, restricted users and people from other workspaces aren't included.

If someone could join more than one organization, already belongs to one, or has a pending invitation, Vybe lists your organization on the **Select organization** screen instead, and they join when they pick it.

To turn this off, an Owner or Admin switches off **Auto-join from Slack** in **Settings → Organization → General** ("People in your Slack workspace join this organization when they sign in with Slack. Guests aren't included.").

## Invite people

Owners and Admins can invite anyone by email, including people outside your Slack workspace.

**1. Open Members**

Go to **Settings → Organization → Members** and click **Invite Member**.

**2. Enter their details**

In **Invite Team Member**, enter their **Email** and choose a **Role**. Only Owners see the Owner role. You invite one person at a time.

**3. Send it**

Click **Send Invitation**. Vybe emails the invitation and shows an **Invitation Link** you can copy and send yourself.

Invitations expire after 14 days. Open invitations appear under **Pending Invitations**, where you can **Resend** (this sends a fresh invitation) or **Cancel** them.

### Accept an invitation

1. Open the invitation email and click **Accept Invitation**, or open the link you were sent.
2. If you're not signed in, sign in or sign up with the email address the invitation was sent to. Any login button works.
3. Check the details on the **Organization Invitation** page and click **Accept Invitation**.

You must be signed in with the invited email. Otherwise Vybe says the invitation was sent to a different email address. If the invitation has expired or was cancelled, you see "Invitation not found or has expired." Ask for a new one.

## Organization settings

Open the user menu and choose **Settings**. Use **Back to Vybe** to leave. You only see the sections your role allows.

| Section | What's there | Who sees it |
| - | - | - |
| **Personal → Preferences** | **Custom AI Instructions** (your personal instructions for the AI), **Auto Build** for apps, and **Email Notifications** | Owner, Admin, Editor |

| **AI coworkers and apps** | "Show AI coworkers and apps in the sidebar for everyone in this organization". Turn it off to hide the **AI coworkers** and **Apps** links and the coworker list from the sidebar for everyone | Everyone |
| **Single Sign-On (SSO)** | Sign-in through your identity provider. See [Single sign-on](https://docs.vybe.build/organization/sso.md) | Owner, Admin |
| **Slack** | Connect or reconnect Vybe to your Slack workspace. See [Slack](https://docs.vybe.build/channels/slack.md) | Owner, Admin |
| **Slack channel access** | The **Default access** coworkers get when someone adds them to a Slack channel: **Read** (someone grants write access for each channel) or **Read and write** (coworkers can post without an extra approval). It starts on **Read**. Channels coworkers are already in keep their current access. See [Slack](https://docs.vybe.build/channels/slack.md) | Owner, Admin |
| **Slack memory** | Whether coworkers learn from public Slack channels they belong to. See [Slack](https://docs.vybe.build/channels/slack.md) | Owner, Admin |

## Email notifications

Vybe sends a few kinds of optional email. In **Settings → Personal → Preferences**, under **Email Notifications**, you can turn each one on or off:

* **Onboarding**: "Tips and getting-started emails after you sign up"
* **Usage reports**: "Monthly usage report emails for your organization"
* **Agent emails**: "Nudges and updates your agents send you by email"

Preferences is available to Owners, Admins and Editors. Anyone can also stop these emails with the unsubscribe link in each one. Sign-in and invitation emails are always sent. See [Email](https://docs.vybe.build/channels/email.md#emails-vybe-sends-you).

## What needs support

Some changes aren't available in Vybe yet. Email [support@vybe.build](mailto:support@vybe.build), or use **Contact support** in the user menu, to:

* **Rename an organization.** There's no rename option in Settings.
* **Delete an organization.** Deleting is done by Vybe support only.
* **Delete your account.** There's no self-serve option.

To **leave an organization**, ask an Owner or Admin to remove you from **Settings → Organization → Members**. Your Vybe account stays, along with your other organizations.
