# LinkedIn and WhatsApp

> Beta: let an AI coworker read and send LinkedIn and WhatsApp messages through your own connected account

> [!NOTE]
>
> LinkedIn and WhatsApp are in **Beta**. They work today, but expect changes.

Connect your own LinkedIn or WhatsApp account, and an AI coworker can triage your messages, look things up, send replies, and react to new messages with triggers. The coworker always acts as you, through your account.

## Your account, not the coworker's

The coworker doesn't get its own LinkedIn profile or WhatsApp number. You connect **your** account, and everything the coworker does with it happens as you: messages, connection invitations, profile visits, posts, and reactions. The people you contact see you, not a bot.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Treat this like handing someone your phone. Start with **Read only** access. Before you allow sending, tell the coworker in its [instructions](https://docs.vybe.build/coworkers/instructions.md) when it may send on your behalf and when it must ask you first. LinkedIn and WhatsApp have their own rules and limits, and heavy automated activity can get an account restricted.

## Connect an account

**1. Open Connect integration**

In the sidebar, go to **Connections → Integrations** and click **Connect integration**. Pick LinkedIn or WhatsApp from the list.

**2. Sign in**

Vybe sends you to a secure page to finish connecting. For LinkedIn, sign in to your account. For WhatsApp, scan the QR code with your phone. The link expires after 15 minutes.

**3. Return to Vybe**

You come back to Vybe and see **LinkedIn connected** or **WhatsApp connected**.

You can also connect from a coworker's **Connections → Integrations** tab, or while adding a LinkedIn or WhatsApp trigger. Connecting from a coworker's page gives that coworker access straight away.

Anyone in your organization except Guests can connect their own account.

## Give a coworker access

A new account is **Private**: "Only you can use this connection." Even then, no coworker can use it until it's given access.

To give a coworker access:

1. Open the coworker and go to **Connections → Integrations**.
2. Find your account and turn it on. It starts at **Read only**.
3. To let the coworker send messages or take other actions, change it to **Full access**, or choose **Custom** and pick the actions you allow.

A coworker can also ask for access in chat. You'll see a **Grant access to…** card with **Approve**.

Only you can give coworkers access to your Private account. You can change the account to **Organization** in its dialog under **Connections**, but for a personal LinkedIn or WhatsApp account, Private is usually the right choice.

## What a coworker can do

**LinkedIn.** Read and triage your messages, look up profiles and connections, search people and companies, send messages and connection invitations, and work with posts, jobs, and the company pages you administer. If your account has Sales Navigator or Recruiter, the coworker can use those features too.

**WhatsApp.** Read your conversations, triage messages, and send replies. Right after you connect, WhatsApp syncs your message history. The coworker can send messages straight away, but it waits for the sync to finish before reading or summarizing older messages.

Example prompts:

> Go through my LinkedIn inbox and list the messages from the last week that still need a reply. Draft a short answer for each, but don't send anything.

> Find the product leads at Acme on LinkedIn and draft a connection note for each.

> Summarize my WhatsApp chat with the Lisbon venue and list any open questions.

## React to new messages

Use a trigger to have the coworker act when something happens on your account, like a new LinkedIn message or a new WhatsApp message.

1. Open the coworker and go to **Automations → Triggers**.
2. Click **Add trigger** and pick **LinkedIn** or **WhatsApp**.
3. Choose your account and the **Event**, then write what the coworker should do.
4. Turn the trigger on. New triggers start off.

**New LinkedIn message** and **New WhatsApp message** fire for messages you send as well as messages you receive. Add an **Only run when…** condition to react only to incoming ones.

> Only run when the message was sent to me by someone else and asks a question.

See [Triggers](https://docs.vybe.build/automations/triggers.md) for every event, conditions, and testing.

## Limits

| Limit | Value |
| - | - |
| Requests per connected account | Up to 40 per minute |
| File uploads | Up to 10 files and 10 MiB per action |
| WhatsApp history | Available once the initial sync finishes |
| LinkedIn new connections and new followers events | LinkedIn Classic only, and can arrive up to six hours late |

## Account status and reconnecting

The account shows its status under **Connections**: **Connected**, **Needs auth**, **Error**, or **Needs attention**. If it shows anything other than **Connected**, open the account to see the reason.

Only the person who connected the account can reconnect it. Open the account under **Connections** and use the reconnect button, or **Connect again** if the connection was removed.

To disconnect, open the account and click its disconnect button. Any triggers that use the account are deleted with it.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Disconnecting WhatsApp in Vybe doesn't log out the linked device on your phone. To revoke access completely, also remove it from WhatsApp's linked devices list.
